General Insurance Practice

This team is led by Michael who has handled a variety of general insurance claims including professional indemnity, property & casualty, fire, contractors “All Risk”, fidelity, public liability, life, travel insurance etc.

Motor Insurance Practice

The Motor Insurance Practice team is headed by Salim and Michael. They handle both Personal Injury Motor Accident ("PIMA") and Non-injury Motor Accident ("NIMA") actions and have each almost 30 years of experience in this field.

Industrial Accidents and claims commenced under the Work Injury Compensation Act

Edwina heads the Work Injury Compensation Claims team. They have considerable experience in this area of law and often are sought after by major institutions to conduct training workshops, lectures and seminars for clients' staff to apprise them of the latest developments in the law and on landmark decisions which affect the industry as a whole.

Recovery

The recovery team is headed by Edwina. This team handles insurers’ subrogation claims of various types, claims involving insurers against other insurers under law of equity or market agreements, claims arising from policy obligations and individual personal injury claims.

ADR

ADR, and in particular, Mediation is of special interest to Salim. Mediation is the new buzz word in ADR and is gaining prominence in Singapore and the region. As an accredited Principal Mediator of the Singapore Mediation Centre (SMC) and The State Courts, he mediates at the State Courts’ Centre for Dispute Resolution. Apart from mediating at the SMC, Salim also trains, coaches and assesses participants in mediation courses conducted by the SMC. Participants usually includes trained lawyers, doctors, engineers, post graduate law students, grassroots leaders, mediators from CMC and other professionals.

Sports Law

The Sports Law department is headed by Salim. Salim has been active in the sporting arena since 1996. He has served as a Board Member of the Anti-Doping Singapore since 2007 and currently chairs the World Anti-Doping Agency's Continental Results Management Panel for Asia/Oceania. In September 2018, Salim successfully completed the Certificate Programme in Sports Arbitration at the Asian International Arbitration Centre in Kuala Lumpur. Salim has been appointed as a Mediator for the Court of Arbitration for Sport. In 2020 and 2021, Salim was invited as a panel speaker for international webinars on the subject of Sports Law. Salim is serving as the Chairman of the Appeal Committee of the Football Association of Singapore as well as ASEAN Football Federation's Appeal Committee. To date, Salim has been involved in 23 tribunal hearings at national and regional levels and has chaired 9 of them.

Criminal Law

Salim has almost 3 decades of experience in Criminal Law and has handled a wide diversity of criminal and traffic cases. He has a special interest in persons with special needs and was invited by the Honourable Attorney General Mr. Sundaresh Menon (now the Honourable Chief Justice Menon) to sit in on an ad-hoc Committee Assisting Persons with Mental Disabilities in 2010. Salim has served the Criminal Practice Committee of The Law Society of Singapore from 2012 to 2019.

Arbitration

This team is led by Michael who has handled a variety of general insurance claims including professional indemnity, property & casualty, fire, contractors “All Risk”, fidelity, public liability, life, travel insurance etc. Michael was elected as member and then a fellow with the Singapore Institute of Arbitrator.
